Argenton-Sur-Creuse

Delightful little town with old houses on the banks of the river Creuse. There are attractive views from the Old Bridge and from here one can walk up to the chapel of Notre Dame-des-Bancs (known locally as The Golden Statue) which has fine views out over the town and the river – 7kms from Bazaiges.

Crozant

A small village in the Creuse valley, a few kilometres south of the Lake Chambon, with a great ruined fortress above it, dating from the 10th and 13th Century.

The Lake Chambon is formed by the massive Eguzon Dam which was built across the Creuse in 1926. There is a fine viewpoint overlooking the Dam, 12kms north of Crozant.

The Lake Chambon boasts water sports, bars, restaurants and boat trips around the lake.

There are man made beaches around the lake and swimming areas.

Brenne Natural Trust

A haven for wild-life and fishing with lakes, restaurants, bars and long picturesque walks.

Châteauroux

A busy industrial town and capital of the Indre Department with 2 churches worth visiting and an interesting museum displaying relics of the Napoleonic period.

Limoges

Capital of the Haute-Vienne Department and principal city of the Limousine region.

Renowned for its fine porcelain and decorative enamel.
